Piero Umiliani - La Legge Dei Gangsters (1969)

La Legge Dei Gangsters (or Gangsters' Law) is a lesser known Klaus Kinski film about a con man who double crosses a group of bank robbers. I've not seen the film, but the soundtrack is a nice collection of crime jazz numbers (some of them pretty long) from the great Piero Umiliani. Check it out.

01. Crepuscolo Sul Mare (Twilight On The Sea) (2:40)
02. Genova P.zza De Ferrari Dalle 2 Alle 7 (Genova, P.zza De Ferrari From 2 To 7) (12:32)
03. Epilogo (Epilogue) (3:02)
04. La Legge Dei Gangsters (Gangsters' Law) (7:37)

05. Episodio (Episode) (2:39)
06. Very Fast (2:20)
07. Alba Sul Mare (Dawn On The Sea) (3:11)
08. Tema Dell'Addio (Farewell Theme) (2:31)
09. Lui E Lei (He And She) (2:34)
10. Epilogo (Epilogue) (4:32)
11. Sei Ottavi In Blues (Six-Eights In Blues) (3:34)
12. Apertura In Jazz (Jazz Overture) (3:55)
13. Disgelo (Snow Melting) (2:28)
14. Spiaggia Deserta (Empty Beach) (6:14)
15. Sequenze Ritmiche (Rhythmical Sequences) (6:20)
16. Swing Come Sempre (Swing As Usual) (2:48)
17. Gangster's Song (3:38)

the film is pretty good, though as usual Kinski only has a bit part in it as a rival gangster. the main characters are played by Franco Citti, who is most famous for being in Pasolini's films (he also has a small part in "The Godfather" as one of the peasants that Pacino befriends in Italy) & Riccardo Cucciolla who played the driver of the car in "Rabid Dogs". I got a cheapo dvd of it on ebay, not sure whether it's been released properly.

correction, it's maurice poli who's in it, not riccardo cucciolla...all these italian names are confusing! cucciolla is the older passenger in "Rabid Dogs".

Outstanding. Thank you.

Superb score--the swinging vibraphone on "Genova, Piazza de Ferrari" put me in a Melvillean space. Now if someone would kindly put up the uber-rare "Man and the City" by Umiliani, life would be good indeed!
