Nora Orlandi - A Doppia Faccia (1969) / Alessandro Alessandroni - La Terrificante Notte Del Demonio (1971)

Thanks so much for everyone's kind words during my little absence. They really mean a lot to me and I'm glad to see that so many of you enjoy my blog so much. Sleazy Listening turned 2 years old back in March and hopefully I'll be able to continue on for years to come (or I run out of stuff to share).

Today's upload is filling a request and it's one I'm very happy to do. This limited edition disc pairing Double Face and The Devil's Nightmare is one of my very favorites. Both scores, especially DN, forgo the usual groovy sound shared here and are much more dark and eerie. From the first time I watched The Devil's Nightmare many years ago I was struck by the soundtrack. It still gives me the creeps when I listen to it!

Now everyone turn down the lights and enjoy!

  2. Thanks for this. Did you notice how close the melody in "Voices" is to the main theme in another Orlandi score, "The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh?"

  5. I am deeply thankful for your interest in my request. I pulled this score out from left field and you handled it quickly, and impressively!
I admit this film is a guilty pleasure of mine!
Great for its mood. I feel it is just as Gothic a film as any Bava entry, perhaps more so.

  7. I'm sorry change subject. I've searched for Quincy Jones' "The Getaway" soundtrack (Peckinpah's 1972 movie) for a long time. Have you ever found it?
    Thanks a lot.

  8. Lyhue, it was no problem. I'll tackle your other request soon. I feel the same way as you about The Devil's Nightmare. I've always thought it was the perfect example of a "euro-cult" film. You have the creepy castle, spooky music, eerie atmosphere, beautiful women, brutal murders - everything that makes the genre great.

PSL, I'm sorry to say I've never come across The Getaway soundtrack either. The only CD release I know of is the Jerry Fielding rejected score.

  14. Oh, and by the way, a request. I don't know if it even exists, but I'd love to get my paws on the late 60's Charlie Calello soundtrack for "Who Killed Teddy Bear." If anyone can scare it up, I'm betting you can.
